Professor JANE PLANT

Professor Jane Plant CBE, DSc, FRSM, FRSE is Professor of Geochemistry at Imperial College, London, and formerly Chief Scientist of the British Geological Survey. She has won many prizes and honours for her work in identifying links between the environment and human health worldwide. She has been awarded six honorary doctorates and the Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran Prize from the Foundation of Science and Technology (previous winners include Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the worldwide web). She is author of the books as shown overleaf, developer of the Plant Programme and a founder of suPPort. She has been married to her husband Peter for more than 30 years and has 3 grown up children Mark, Emma and Tom.

LAURA JONES

Laura is looking after the running of SuPPort, she is a talented organiser with business experience ranging from running a travel agency to a legal practice. She is a qualified homeopath and has considerable experience of working with cancer patients. She is known to her many friends and family as a kind, generous and very supportive person.

She has known Jane for more than 10 years since they met at a New Year's Party at a mutual friend's house. She is married for more than 20 year to her husband Alan

In order to do unbiased scientific research and make it available, it takes a lot of time and effort, we are not funded by anyone nor are we a charity with all the red tape that this entails and we do not receive any donations. In fact, in order to be truly independent it is best not to receive any donations and/or funding so that we are not indebted to anyone. We are therefore completely self-funding and in order to provide and keep up the level of information that we want to provide and keep people updated with it, we need a member's register so that we can contact everyone and also so that we know how many people are interested in what we are doing. Our fee of £30.00 is a very nominal registration fee for a year. We pitched it at this level as we thought most people should be able to afford £2.50 per month. If however, you do have a serious financial problem please do e-mail us and we can see whether we can provide a solution.

We feel that the work that we are doing is extremely important and needs to be continued, unless it is self-financing it will not be sustainable. Please note that of course every other health service is also paid for, even if it is paid for by the NHS it is still funded by us the taxpayer.
