Two US senators are holding a news conference in which they are expected to reveal what they say is evidence of commercial pressure behind the release of Lockerbie bomber Abdelbasset Ali al-Megrahi.
Senators Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg's briefing is being attended by relatives of those who died in the 1988 bombing.
The event comes on the first anniversary of the release of Megrahi by Scottish ministers, who acted in response to medical advice that he would only live three months because of cancer.

[ Comment: Jane is reported in the Daily Telegraph blog for 3 August and last Sunday's Scottish Sunday Express as having predicted Megrahi's survival because of the change in diet. He has changed from a Scottish diet and Scotland has one of the highest prostate cancer rates in the world to a Libyan diet and Libya has one of the lowest prostate cancer rates in the world. ]
