CSI Diary: Jane's Talks
Soroptomists meeting

There was a meeting organised by the Kingston branch of the Soroptomists( good sisters) in Kew on Saturday, 20th October. As part of the event Jane held a discussion group chaired by Dr Margaret Sprackling a distinguished clinical doctor who now follows a dairy -free diet. There was an extremely valuable discussion and exchange of ideas.

Earlier in the day Jane attended a talk given on behalf of The National Osteoporosis Society. She was shocked to hear the person rgiving the talk recommending cheese and dairy to prevent and treat  the disease . In response to Jane pointing out how bad this advice was the person responded that 'it is everyone's free choice'. She seemed incapable of understanding that most people would assume they were getting really good advice from their charity. She was not prepared to say whether the charity received funds from the drug industry or the dairy industry.

We do hope those of you who wish to raise or give money to charity will consider carefully the extenrt to whioch you are merely helping organisations fronting for vested interest groups and realise why we are not a charity. We also hope you will think of making donations instead to  Cancer Pprevent which is run by Jane and Professor Djamgoz, Professor of Cancer Biology at Imperial College. The information about this charity is on this website under donations
