Dannie's success story

I am new to this forum, but not to the Plant Programme. I am 43 year old, live in Bulgaria and was diagnosed with BC in June 2010. Came out of the blue, but who expects such thing anyway... I was assigned to a neoadjuvant chemoterapy to reduce the size of the tumor (DC behind my left nipple, one 4 sm and another 1.5 sm interlocking primary tumors). Before the chemo I had a nlymph node biopsy that revealed 4 nodes affected and gave the characteristics of my cancer - ER+, PR-, HER2 -. I had a bone scan, came out negative, a huge relieve for me, as the horror of expectation was unbearable. SUbsecuent lymph node scan revealed 3 more nodes affected in the left axila. No mets in the internal organs detected.

I was lucky that a friend of myne living in Canada told me about Jane and her book . I read it in one single gulp, so to say it... And from then on I feel as it all depends on me. I feel strong, optimistic and looking into the future. Of course I have my low moments, fear sometimes creeps, but then I say to myself that it has been rooted out of me and I am one happy girl that will make everything possible the cancer never returns.

Few weeks later and past my first shot of chemo I already felt the tumor shrinking by palpation. I have to say that it was not visible, did not came out on mamograms and I was given all clear on 2 checks just a month before my diagnisis. But I had a nagging feeling something was very wrong and when I felt the lump in my armpit I knew almost instantly....

I started on the PP immediately and have been very strict following it. No sugar at all, no diary, organic vegs. Only occasionaly I have some tuna or salmon. I allow myself not more than 20 gr. of organic dark chocolate of 85% cocoa, drink lots of freshly squeezed vegetable juices.

After my third chemo the doctors were completely surpised of how much my tumor had shrunk. I had one more shot and a surgery in Sept. The results were - The 1.5 sm tumor was completely gone, the 4 sm had shrunk to 2 sm and dropped in grade. No lymph nodes affected. I was so so happy despite the fact I've lost my breast. I am considering a reconstruction at some point.

I have finished with the chemo, my blood levels were allways normal, I lost my hair, but like my wig a lot, so that was not a big drama. Felt sick and tired only the first 2 days after each shot and then I was all energetic and busy doing things and educating myself which I find very useful.

I am starting radioterapy on Jan 17th and already found an aloe vera plant :) I just had my 6-months check up and all is fine!

I would like to say a huge Thank You, Jane for giving me a powerfull weapon against the cancer, a huge confidence boost a faith that I can and I will come out the winner of this battle!

I will post a few question on the Ask Jane and Laura link, just wanted to introduce myself here.
