Jane frequently has biochemical tests carried out on urine samples of her patients to help diagnose underlying problems. She is increasingly  concerned about the number of people who have very high levels of phthalates  in their samples. These chemicals are highly oestrogenic and can disrupt the behaviour of some neurotransmitters so they can be a factor in anxiety and depression. They are in some cosmetics and personal care products and in many plastics. Please follow the advice for limiting your exposure to these and other harmful chemicals using the information on this site and in Jane's books Your Life In Your hands and Prostate Cancer.
